Ready to go WAPpy?

Posted by Richard Goodwin on 09:45, 21/6/2000 | , , ,

In preparation for an article in RISC World, the IconBar is now available in WML format for WAP enabled devices. This means that you can now read your favourite RISC OS news on your new mobile phone!

The site is at wap.iconbar.com - but don't bother going to it with your desktop browser as you'll just be sent back here automatically. You'll need a WAP enabled mobile phone (the site has been tested on a Nokia 7110, Ericsson R320s and Siemens C35) or other WAP browser such as AUS Wap or Wapman (both Palmpilot software).

Although there are no publicly available tools for WAP development under RISC OS - yet - the filetypes f8e and f8f have been given to WML pages and WBMP images respectively. Once the RiscWorld article has been published we'll try and get a hold of more data for you, including icon sprites.
